Goal
Reinforce specific positive behaviors so they know what to repeat.
Use When
They did something you want to see more of — sharing, listening, playing independently.
Say This
"You put your shoes on by yourself — that's so responsible!"
Don't Say
"Good job" — too vague; doesn't tell them what they did right.
⚠️ Never use praise to mask frustration. Kids feel the mismatch.
